I had a read of Dugdale’s post, thanks for the link. He writes well and states the position clearly; as do you. I believe none of it will make a difference though. O’Brien’s old house will fall. The council may eventually involve themselves in the recycling of the bricks and perhaps the limestone carvings and lintels - maybe.

Unstranger, we simply cannot have that attitude to this. This needs to be pushed from every angle possible. We watched them fill those tunnels with concrete and did nothing. Put enough pressure on and these idiots will have to act to protect their ill-deserved income. I suggest you put it on your own site too. Bone up on the Derelict Sites Act (1990) and put our case forward. I’m now in touch with Minister Phil Hogan and Willie Penrose, Miniters for the Environment and Local Authority and Housing and Planning respectively and I will not let this go. We cannot just say, ah well, they’re not going to do anything anyway so what’s the point. We need to keep pushing. This country is built on “ah-shur” politics. Let’s buck the trend.
