Dubya Believe it?

So, Dubya and his band of merry shitheads have decided to start gradually reducing the military presence in Iraq. It was interesting to hear his pointless address yesterday, in which he lied and lied yet again.
Let’s start with his opening words:
“Good evening. In the life of all free nations, there come moments that decide the direction of a country and reveal the character of its people. We are now at such a moment.
First of all, America is now one of the least free countries in the world thanks to Republican paranoia and Democrat complacency, so forget about the first line because America is a secret police state. Secondly, the direction the American economy has taken is positively downward. The Bank of England has come to the rescue to a small extent this week but that won’t stop the slide. The direction America’s foreign policy has taken is dictatorial at best. Thirdly, most of the American people don’t want Dubya to speak on their behalf and, since he has absolutely no idea what character is, he shouldn’t presume to. So, I think we can safely dispose of this opening paragraph as complete bullshit. Ok, so it’s off to a bad start, that can happen so let’s carry on.
Here’s the second paragraph and it’s a doozy:
“In Iraq, an ally of the United States is fighting for its survival. Terrorists and extremists who are at war with us around the world are seeking to topple Iraq’s government, dominate the region, and attack us here at home. If Iraq’s young democracy can turn back these enemies, it will mean a more hopeful Middle East and a more secure America. This ally has placed its trust in the United States. And tonight, our moral and strategic imperatives are one: We must help Iraq defeat those who threaten its future and also threaten ours.
The term “ally” is used to describe a nation that has CHOSEN to support your political ethos. It is not used to describe a country that was told to be your ally. Since a large part of the Iraqi government want nothing to do with a country that dismantled their infrastructure and plunged them into civil war. But that’s just me being pedantic. Let’s carry on. Yes, Iraq is fighting for its survival. That’s true. That’s a very true statement. Now, why do you think Iraq is fighting for its survival? Because of a flawed military strategy that got rid of the police force and the army instead of using them to stem the insurgency. As for dominating the region, what the fuck are you trying to do, George, you fucking muppet. Also, why do you think people are trying to attack America and where did they get their weapons? Still clueless? Check your receipt book, George.
So, not going too well so far. I’m not going to go through it paragraph by paragraph because you can see the bullshit for yourself. The fact is that George shouldn’t have made that speech. He should have left it to his generals. He is buying time and making life difficult for the next incumbent because of his criminal ineptitude.
Several things that he says in his address would be comical if they weren’t so horrible. He famously hasn’t mentioned the word “victory” in his address because even George can’t be that stupid - well he can but his 6 year old speech writer isn’t. He does say things like, “life is beginning to return to normal” Well, I don’t know what war you’ve been watching but hiding in your own home in fear of death squads isn’t normal to me.
Read the speech for yourself and keep an open mind. Even the Republicans don’t want this donkey in the Whitehouse. I could go through the whole speech but so can you and you should.
